Sheldon T. Anderson, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
Sheldon manages the strategic direction and profitability of the bank. Sheldon is a widely recognized community leader in South Florida and the former President and CEO of the Southeast Region for the Northern Trust Company, where he was responsible for investment management, trust and estate planning, private and business banking, and financial consulting in Florida and Georgia. Sheldon sits on the Board of Trustees of Baptist Health South Florida, and the Board of Directors of United Way of Miami Dade County, U.S. Stem Cell, Inc., Miami Dade College Foundation, the New World Symphony, The Miami Foundation, and the Beacon Council. He also serves on the Board of Trustees at Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart and is a member of the Orange Bowl Committee.
Edward J. Joyce, Vice Chairman and Chief Client Engagement Officer
Edward oversees Grove Bank & Trust's client engagement efforts across its five offices in Miami-Dade County, including Aventura, Coconut Grove, Coral Gables, Palmetto Bay, and South Miami. He joined Grove Bank & Trust after a 37-year career at Northern Trust, serving as President of the South Florida region, Chief Fiduciary Officer of the east region, and most recently as Executive Client Advisor. Ed is a long-time community and civic leader. He is the Chair of the Board of Chapman Partnership and past Chair of the American Red Cross of Greater Miami and The Keys. Currently, he serves on the executive committee of Jackson Health Foundation and on the board/committees of Camillus House, Inc., Orange Bowl Committee, and United Way of Miami Dade.
Jose R. Vazquez, Jr., President and Chief Lending Officer
Jose is responsible for the growth and overall profitability of the Bank’s lending and deposit portfolios. He has over 30 years of banking experience and was previously with Popular Bank, where he served as Director of Commercial Banking for the Florida Region. Jose serves on the executive board and finance committee for Junior Achievement and is a past board member of the March of Dimes South Florida Chapter and the Latin Builders Association. He is active with the Florida Bankers Association, Miami-Dade College’s Center for Financial Training, Habitat for Humanity and the South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.He was an Adjunct Professor at Miami-Dade College and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Florida International University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Miami.
Bert Lopez, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Bert oversees the financial, treasury, accounting, and operations aspects of the company, including capital planning, asset-liability management, investments, liquidity, financial planning and analysis, management and regulatory reporting, taxes, loan and deposit operations and investor communications. Bert is a senior executive with over 30 years of expertise streamlining business processes, controlling expenses, enhancing revenue, and balance sheet management. He has held several CFO positions in both public and private companies, including CFO of Barnett Bank of South Florida, US Century Bank, Bank United and various real estate and international sales companies. He began his career in public accounting with an international accounting firm. Bert is a licensed CPA, received his Master of Business Administration and Bachelors from the University of Miami, and is a member on the President’s Council of his alma mater.
