We began our journey in 1926 in the heart of Coconut Grove.
As we celebrate our centennial anniversary, we reflect on our history married by challenges, triumphs, and an overwhelming spirit to embrace the opportunities that lie ahead.
Enduring challenging times
Just weeks after opening our doors, our community experienced the Great Hurricane of 1926 with winds reaching 149 mph, devastating southern Florida and ending the real estate boom. Three years later, the 1929 stock market crash added to the financial turmoil. Despite these hardships, we stood firm, assisting the University of Miami's recovery and pioneering home construction loans to drive the region's growth.
Growing with our community
In the 1930s and 1940s, we launched more innovative programs supporting home ownership and financed business enterprises like Ryder Trucks. Over the following decades, our ongoing contributions to the development of Miami Dade County, including funding Port of Miami's historic dredging other important infrastructure projects, showcased our commitment to supporting and fostering meaningful progress. From our headquarters in Coconut Grove and branches throughout the Miami area, our dedication to our clients' stories remains unwavering, fueling our journey forward.
